Jeanie Farmer
Ms. Farmer is a co-founder of The Vision Institute of South Carolina and currently serves as the organization’s Executive Director and Vice President of the Governing Board . A teacher of the visually impaired and administrator for over fifteen years, Ms. Farmer was the creator of Project Magnify, a ground-breaking initiative in low vision education in South Carolina. Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness, 101, 763-768.] Jeanie has served as the lead researcher with TVI projects through the University of Pittsburgh, President of the SC Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) and as an adjunct professor at USC-Upstate. Ms. Farmer earned a B.S. in elementary education and special education with an emphasis in visual impairments at George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University and a M.Ed. in educational administration from USC.
