Nancy Buchanan retired from over 30 years in State government, twenty years with the SC Commission for the blind and ten years with the Department of Mental Health. Her experience is in rehabilitation, counseling, and job placement for the blind; in statewide administration; social services for persons with mental illness; and programs for the deaf/blind mentally ill.

Mrs. Buchanan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Columbia College and a Master’s degree of Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Carolina.

Mrs. Buchanan is a life member of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired. She also served on the SC Governors Disability Council for a number of years.
